I never said EA didn't had a good control system and by this improved skateboard game controls by lightyears in comparison to THPS. How the heck can an one stick control system be more authentic than a two stick control system then? And pls realize that more uppercase doesn't make your arguments better. No points, no flashy combos, no tricklining.no magnetizing to rails.basically EVERYTHING THE GAME IS CURRENTLY EXCEPT THE STEERING.ĭude, are you irl skater? If yes, you might know that you use two feet, not one. They can still DO THEIR GAME DIFFERENT, while adopting this scheme. ITS BASIC MOVEMENT THAT DRAGS SESSION DOWN.PERIOD. I can scoop a tre flip with ONE STICK and use the OTHER STICK for movement. I can do a late back foot flip in skate, using ONE stick controlling the pop, the ollie, and then the late kick on the Back Leg.įunny i cant do that here in a "much more authentic skate sim". In the case of skate it was ONE stick for the board and ONE stick for movement.and it made sense. Its the same damn thing.flicking the sticks. The left stick was for leaning, which is what u do IRL.lean to turn.lean forward/backward in the air if you're goin for a flip.īurn の投稿を引用:you dudes saying this control scheme is authentic and claiming skate's was not.whatever. Tell me why i press right/left to do a blunt/noseblunt slide in Session, when in skate, i have to press up/down, you know how you would IRL? If i do a tre flip in skate, i still have to compress, scoop clockwise, and doesnt magically "get done for me". back leg is controlled on same stick, u just press down for a kick in the air with your BACK FOOT. i ollied, and it made sense.Īgain with the late back foot flips in skate 3. In skate i press down on right stick to compress back foot, slide right stick forward to simulate right foot sliding up the board.and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. I do skate 's my natural stance IRL.and for the record goofy footed stance is broken in Session atm. But if you want something similar to skate I suggest going goofy. But I do think a control scheme should be implemented. This is to simulate skateboarding in real life as this game states it's a skateboarding simulator. Not using one stick to do the trick for you. there’s a reason why that game killed the Tony Hawk franchise, and i think it’s pretty niave to not appreciate why.Įdit: 20/9/19 turns out the controls arent that bad lol, still clunky but getting used to them.ĭarkShadowsaver の投稿を引用:Because one stick cant simulate both feet. i know this isn’t a Skate game but that doesn’t mean any ideas implemented from it should be blasphemous. i remember have to practice for hours learning how to tre flip, and would still often fail it from time to time. also to the people saying Skate’s controls are “too easy” Skate’s controls only became “easy” after hours upon hours of practice. an inward heeflip shoots off in inward diagonal left flick, exactly how your front foot would in real life. for example a heeflip (if pushing goofy) shoots off with a diagonal left upwards flick, the exact same way your front foot would in real life. lay down the control patterns on an actual skateboard and the foot movement would follow it almost identically. i’ve been a skater for over 10 years now and Skate’s flick controls resembled the footwork of the actual tricks perfectly. why did you guys have to throw the controls all over the place for this game? the game looks great btw and the movement is spot on.Įdit: to the children on this thread trying to explain to me that these new controls are more realistic or “authentic” to that of an actual skater you are wrong. if it aint broke dont fix it right? look at all the fps shooters out there, all the controls on all of the games are the same no matter what game it is. why did you guys have to make it so complicated? its not a bad thing to copy them. the controls on that game actually gave a very close resemblance to the footwork of the tricks themselves and the flow of these controls were perfect. my question is why are the controls so odd, different and overly complicated? triggers to turn? seriously? why are the tricks so awkwardly complicated aswell? you literally have to use most of the controller to pull off the most simplest of tricks and it just feels so awkward. Look, pretty much every single person buying this game is going to be a huge fan of Skate.
